Our Purpose

Why we're Meeting

"...if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin."
1 John 1:7 (NASB)
📖

Study the Bible

The Bible is the most sold, read, bought, published, given away, believed, translated, quoted book in the world. It has left a profound affect on society, culture, faith, and has been a source of hope and purpose for billions.

🤝

Community Fellowship

Hebrews 10:24–25 (ESV): And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Serve the Community

Practice loving your neighbor and try to follow Jesus's example. This group will have periodic opportunities to serve the homeless and other community service projects.

Values

Values from Scripture

God's morals from the Bible conflict with the world's values. For example: materialism and idolatry Exodus 20:3, value of unborn life Psalm 139:13, gender roles Ephesians 5:22–24, revenge vs forgiveness Luke 6:27, truth vs relativism John 14:6.

We trust the unchanging truth of God's Word, not the world's values. Below are some foundational values from the Bible and where they come from:

*

The Bible — God's Inspired Word

Scripture is the divinely inspired Word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16–17

*

God is a triune being

One God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. John 1:1O,14. 1 John 5:7

*

Salvation by Grace Through Faith

Jesus died for our sins and rose again. Romans 10:9, Acts 2:38, 1 John 1:9, Ephesians 2:8.

*

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit can help and guide us, but it should not be used as an excuse for disobedience. John 14:26, Romans 8:26.

*

Return of Christ

Jesus is coming back. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

*

False Teachers

Watch out for false teachers who deny the Bible's teachings. 1 John 4:1, 2 Timothy 4:3-4, 2 Corinthians 11:13-15

*

Jesus died for everyone

When the Bible says Jesus died for the whole world then it means He died for the whole world. God is powerful and loving enough to grant us a choice (Joshua 24:15). Beware of anyone claiming what the Bible says is not what the Bible means. 1 John 2:2, John 3:16, Job 34:4.

*

Be only in the world, not of the world

The world follows satan. Christians should not try to appease the radical woke culture that defends and promotes sin. Who do we wish to please: God or the world? Romans 12:2, 1 John 2:15

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
2 Timothy 3:16–17
